Club Med Phuket – The Perfect Destination For Your Phuket Retreat

Water Adventures for your Phuket Retreat

Starting your Phuket holiday with a dose of adrenaline and adventure, Club Med Phuket offers a treasure trove of exhilarating activities designed for couples. It goes without saying that scuba diving is a popular option and rightly so, you’re surrounded by crystal-clear waters! Whether it’s your first time, if you’re a beginner, or if you’re a seasoned and avid diver, courses are available at the resort. Important to note that this would be an added cost to your accommodation package but worth considering if you’ve always wanted to add scuba diving to your life experiences.

Of course, if you prefer staying closer to the water’s surface level, then snorkelling is just right for you. The resort offers a snorkelling trip where you’ll venture out to three different snorkelling spots about 30 minutes from the Club Med Phuket. Once you’re there, you’ll get to see beautiful coral reefs and swim among all types of fish. Don’t worry, for safety purposes, you’ll be required to wear a life jacket and complete a swimming test.

Another exciting activity to add to your thrilling Phuket travel experience is kayaking. It’s beginner-friendly and a great way to explore the shore and islands at your own pace with panoramic views.

Jet skiing is also available at Patong Beach but be sure to rent from reputable licensed operators only. There’s also parasailing where you can enjoy views from above if that’s more up your adrenaline alley.

Grab a surfboard and hit the surf! Perhaps the best time when the sea and waves aren’t too rough is between April to October. You can learn to ride waves at Kata Beach, and for the more experienced surfers, check out Karon Beach and Kamala Beach.

Don’t forget to book your activities in advance to avoid disappointment, especially during peak season.

Island hopping on your Phuket Retreat

You’re in Phuket surrounded by so many breathtaking islands, what do you do? Opt for a Club Med Phuket excursion to the well-known Phi Phi islands, great for swimming and snorkelling in its clear waters. A Thai lunch, a shopping session at Phi Phi Don, and a visit to the tranquil Bamboo Island are also included.

Not as popular as the other islands but still worth considering is Racha Yai Island. Another great spot for snorkelling with its white sandy beach and deep blue waters.

Hop in a speedboat to check out Coral and Maiton Island. More swimming, snorkelling, and something to top off your holiday in Phuket, you might even get to see some dolphins near Maiton island.

For some adventure to a more traditional island, travel by junk boat to Phang Nga Bay, also known as home to James Bond Island and other surrounding islands. If you’re wondering, “What’s a junk boat?” It’s a type of Chinese sailing ship with fully battened sails. Once you get there, ride a canoe to explore the islands and paddle through a mangrove forest and past a sea cave. Hang out on the beach or go for a dip at James Bond Island. Don’t worry, a Thai lunch is provided on the junk boat when you’ve worked up all that appetite.

NON-WATER Activities for your Phuket Retreat

When you don’t feel like splashing and wading around in the water, there are plenty of other fun activities to do at Club Med Phuket. The resort offers introductory group classes for adults and if you have kids in tow, children aged eight years and above.

Try something you thought you had never thought of trying – like Archery. Take part in a group lesson on how to hold and use a bow and arrow correctly and to hit the target effectively. Take your adventurous Phuket holiday up a notch with the flying trapeze and trampoline group classes! If you’ve always wondered what it’s like to swing through the air bravely and of course with safety equipment, trapezing will give you that thrill. Or stay grounded and take trampoline lessons where the inner kid in you will jump for joy. You might even learn an acrobatic trick or two. Fun for kids (aged four and above) too!

Whether it’s a candlelit dinner on the beach or a private gazebo tucked away in a lush garden, wine and dine and make it a date night every night on your Phuket holiday.

Day or night, kick back with a drink at the Sanook bar. A cafe pool bar with plush sunbeds by the pool deck that turns into a lively space when the sun goes down where you can dance the night away.

More things to do on your Phuket Retreat

In between the sunset walks and dinners, take a day to live on the wild side with an ATV Ride through the lush green rainforest, across terrains such as beaches and hillocks. Your only mission is to have fun.

Dinner and a show? On the artsy side of your Phuket holiday, there’s the Simon Cabaret show if you and your partner want to experience something different. The show is a mixed bag of art, folk dance, and traditional and pop music. When in Phuket…

This might be debatable depending on your interests but a day at the Andamanda Phuket Water Park near Phuket Town sounds like a pretty great day date. With water slides and the longest lazy river in Southeast Asia, feeling carefree, adventurous, and having fun might be one of the highlights of a holiday in Phuket.

What’s a Phuket travel experience without walking through the famous and vibrant atmosphere of Bangla Road? The colourful street lined with restaurants, bars, shops, and entertainment, it’s sensory overload in a good way.

Explore Old Phuket Town if you get the chance. Beautiful and multicoloured shophouses and majestic mansions line the Sino-Portuguese streets. Ideal for a half-day visit where you’ll find cafes, restaurants, bakeries, you get the idea. Walk along the most popular old street, Thalang Road, to see more of the neighbourhood. Check out local markets and fascinating abandoned mansions nearby.

Speaking of, there are plenty of night markets around too for your food, shopping, and souvenir needs. The Sunday Walking Street Market comes highly recommended.

Something a little different for your Phuket holiday, spend some time with elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary. Unlike the controversial practices of elephant trekking, there’s no riding on elephants at the sanctuary. You get to feed them, bathe them, and play with them, adult and baby elephants. How precious is that?

Visit a small fisherman’s village called Koh Panyi located in the middle of Phang Nga Bay where all the houses are built on stilts. The village also comprises a sizeable Muslim community. It’s recommended to take a longtail boat early in the day before tourists arrive for a more wholesome experience. You can navigate and explore the narrow water streets, and check out some shopping, and delicious seafood.

No matter where you happen to be on the enchanting island of Phuket, the sheer abundance of awe-inspiring landscapes and captivating destinations invites you to embark on a journey of exploration. Each passing moment offers a chance to immerse yourself in the essence of your Phuket retreat, engaging all your senses and creating unforgettable memories.
