Arrive in Yunnan on Thursday and meet your guide at the airport before transferring to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax at leisure or begin exploring the city at your own pace.
Drive to Dali and enjoy the unique Music Caravan experience along the shores of Erhai Lake (approximately two hours). Take in the scenic views accompanied by onboard music while enjoying a drink of your choice (beer or juice).
Immerse yourself in local culture with a Bai ethnic costume experience, join in an ethnic dance with the “Golden Flower,” and capture the memories with three electronic travel photos and a group drone video. Afterwards, continue on to Lijiang and check in to your hotel.
Drive to Lugu Lake, pausing at the Eighteen Bends Viewpoint to take in the stunning views of the Jinsha River. Continue on to the Lugu Lake Viewpoint before visiting the Mosuo Museum, where you’ll learn about the community’s fascinating matriarchal traditions. In the evening, join the Mosuo people for a lively bonfire party before settling in for an overnight stay at Lugu Lake.
Take a traditional pig-trough boat ride around Liwu Bi Island, where you will visit the sacred Liwu Bi Temple and listen to ancient Mosuo chants. Afterwards, return to Lijiang and explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town, including Sifang Street, which offers a vivid glimpse of Jiangnan-style charm set against the highland backdrop.
Drive to Shangri-La, passing Jade Dragon Snow Mountain en route. Visit Tiger Leaping Gorge (stair access not included), the First Bend of the Yangtze River, and Songzanlin Monastery with an eco shuttle and Tibetan dress experience. Explore Dukezong Ancient Town, Turtle Hill Park, and the world’s largest prayer wheel before joining the locals for evening dances in the square.
Escape the bustle of city life and be “Xu Hongdou for a day” in Shaxi Ancient Town. Stroll across Yujin Bridge, wander the stone paths of Sideong Street, enjoy a coffee at Xiaochun’s Mint Café, and browse the charming Xianfeng Bookstore. Continue on to Dali, explore Dali Ancient City, and stay overnight.
Visit Xizhou Old Town, often called “the garden of Dali” and a well-known filming site for the drama Meet Yourself. Explore elegant Bai-style courtyards, experience the traditional Three-Course Tea Ceremony, and enjoy lively performances of Bai song and dance. Don’t miss tasting Xizhou Baba, the famous local snack often nicknamed the “Bai pizza.” Afterwards, drive to Kunming and check in to your hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG) for your departure. Complimentary airport drop-off is available between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
