The Shanghai Marathon, happening on 06 December 2026, is now in the next stage as a candidate race to joining the Abbott World Marathon Majors! As the highest-rated full marathon in China, it is categorised as a Platinum Label Road Race by World Athletics. Starting at the iconic Bund, runners are treated to breath-taking views of Shanghai’s skyline as they make their way through the riverside West Bund Art Center in the Xuhui District. The route has also been carefully designed to include key landmarks that showcase the city’s vibrant blend of tradition and modernity. Offering a captivating and swift journey through one of the world’s most dynamic cities, the Shanghai Marathon not only highlights Shanghai’s beauty but also its commitment to innovation and inclusivity. This year marks its 30th anniversary and will see 40,000 runners take to its streets.

[Sunday – 06 December 2026]
Make your way to the Shanghai Marathon starting point at the iconic Bund. Your race ends at the Xujiahui Sports Park, Shanghai. The rest of the day is free and easy.
[Monday – 07 December 2026]
Free and easy until check-out from hotel. You may depart from Shanghai or opt to extend your stay.

- Marathon entrants must be 20 years of age and over.
- Confirmed booking is non-cancellable and non-refundable.
